Arctic mesoscale meteorology: daily research model forecasts
Canadian Arctic Throughflow Study (CATS - NSF)

Nares Strait, a narrow channel between Ellesmere Island and Greenland, is an important conduit for the exchange of ice and freshwater between the Arctic Ocean and Baffin Bay. At 300 km long and 35 km wide, with channel walls of 500-2000 m, it may also be the largest natural wind "tunnel" in the world. With colleagues in the CATS program, I am investigating the meteorology and oceanography of this harsh but spectacularly beautiful region.
